*I Fabliaux \u2013 Rhapsody for One Actor*<\/em> is a theatrical rhapsody for a single performer that weaves together physical theater, storytelling, clowning, and commedia dell\u2019arte. Drawing inspiration from medieval fabliaux<\/em> \u2014the precursors to the Decameron\u2014the performance spans the centuries to examine the present, giving life to a grotesque, ironic, and deeply contemporary tale.
\nThrough a lively and flexible dramaturgy and a direct relationship with the audience, each performance is rewritten in dialogue with the space, the audience, and the context in which it takes place, transforming every performance into a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. <\/p>\n

The show was developed through artist residencies in Italy, Belgium, and France.
\nWe would like to thank the following for their support of the research and creation process: Troubleyn\/Jan Fabre \u2013 Antwerp, AIDAS \u2013 Acad\u00e9mie Internationale des Arts du Spectacle in Versailles, the City of Barletta, and Gonzalo Alarc\u00f3n.
\nPremiered at the Le Mois Moli\u00e8re Festival in Versailles, the Festival d\u2019Avignon Off 2024, the Laboratorium Troubleyn in Antwerp, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The theater company I Nuovi Scalzi was officially founded in 2011, with its registered office in Barletta.
\nThe members\u2019 artistic exploration has been refined through their work with artists such as Claudio De Maglio, Pierre Byland, Carlo Boso, Emma Dante, Michelangelo Campanale, Giorgio Rossi, and many others.
\nThe company performs physical and visual theater using the expressive language of masks, contemporary circus, and the performing arts.
\nAmong the various awards received: \u201cBest Production\u201d (for \u201cLa Ridiculosa commedia della terra contesa\u201d) at the 7th Mont Laurier International Festival (Canada); \u201cBest Acting\u201d special mention at the DOIT 2015 Festival, Rome (Italy); \u201cBest Production,\u201d \u201cBest Leading Actress,\u201d and \u201cBest Supporting Actor\u201d at the 1st Sharm El Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth (Egypt); \u201cBest Performance\u201d at the 14th ProContra International Festival in Szczecin (Poland).<\/p>\n<\/div>
