Premio Equilibrio 2009 competition: The winners are…
This year’s Equilibrio competition awarded Ambra Senatore for the festival of new dance produced by the Fondazione Musica in Rome, organised and arranged by Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, providing a panorama and platform of world-wide contemporary dance and support to young Italian artists.
The international jury, presided by Lura Kumin, awarded Passo, a work by Ambra Senatore with the following motivation:
“for its capacity to unite dance and concept with great intelligence and irony. Rich with inventiveness and ideas, Ambra Senatore demonstrated outright awareness in the use of diverse elements that compose her proposals for stage scenes and a strong ability in uniting choreographic and theatrical languages and expression.
Another strong point, and one that is particularly appreciated, is the fine quality of movement that characterises her dance.
After only two weeks of work, the two dancers (Ambra Senatore and Caterina Basso) gave new life to a performance marked by clarity and precision, within their single actions and in the overall structure of the piece. The presence of the dancers on stage was strong and their actions were rich with meaning”.
